A cross-party group of 10 U.S. congressmen has prepared a lawsuit against Barack Obama, accusing him of "illegal" extension of military operations in Libya. As reported on Wednesday, June 15, Agence France-Presse, a claim signed by 10 members of the House of Representatives, led by Democrat Dennis Kucinich. Congressmen believe that Obama has no right to conduct military operations in Libya without the permission of Congress.
  "We believe that the law was violated. We asked the court to protect the American people from the consequences of this illegal policy," - said Kucinich. According to CNN, House Speaker Rep. John Boehner, in turn, sent Obama a letter in which he said that the presidential administration has not yet responded to the request of the House with the requirement to report on military operations in Libya and to justify its need for the United States. Congressman said that the administration was given two weeks to prepare the report and that this period ends on Friday, June 17. Boehner also stressed that the lack of response to the request of the House of Representatives will also be a violation of Resolution on the distribution of war powers. According to the congressman, Obama must as soon as possible or obtain a permit legislators to continue the military operation, or to withdraw from Libya all the American forces. CNN also reported that on Wednesday in Washington will host a press conference on the lawsuit against Obama. According to the Resolution on the allocation of war powers, U.S. President has the right to conduct military operations abroad without the permission of Congress only if it lasts no more than 60 days. In the case of Libya, this term has passed on May 20, but Obama did not stop the operation. He contented himself with members of Congress sent a letter in which he stressed the importance of what is happening to the U.S., and noted that lawmakers welcomed the proposals on this issue.
